Confidence
Competence Lethality

Instruction at the Shootery was not designed to qualify you for a CCP, though you will certainly be qualified when you leave. It is designed to make you competent, confident, athletic, and lethal with your chosen weapon. Many who pass the CCP can stand upright, shoot a target, and know the laws.
In a hostile threat environment, this just isn’t enough.
You have to be fast enough, lethal enough, and KNOW what you are doing and why. You do not get this by shooting straight ahead with 50 rounds of ammunition at a target under extremely controlled circumstance. You get it by firing thousands of times under stress environments. It's muscle memory.
What we train and why
is the difference.
If you have a weapon (pistol)
but feel uncomfortable with it, unsure as to how to engage it
effectively, and are truly not athletic and competent with it….you
should take this course. Instruction includes….
- Basic safety, weapon manipulation, loading, unloading, and quick reaction drills for jammed weapons, mis-feeds, and weapon failure.
- Basic shooting techniques, weapon hold, trigger pull, and target acquisition.
- Single target defense drills at various distances.
- Drawing the weapon from concealed carry, putting the weapon into action and engaging hostiles. We learn to do this ALL under 2 seconds. You will as well.
- Multiple threat scenarios. (up to 7 hostiles) We do this on a timed scenario with 2 rounds per target AND a magazine change under 10 seconds.
- Close quarter combat. How to confront a hostile, engage, and eliminate a threat or multiple threats from the concealed carry position.
- Shooting scenarios where friendlies are commingled with hostiles as well as concealed targets.
- Shooting while moving.
- Reloading while moving.
- Shooting from sitting, kneeling positions.
- Timed competition within the guest groups.
The Difference
Typical shooting courses focus on fundamentals, safety, and familiarization culminating in shooting at point targets, directly to the front, under very controlled environments with limited shots fired. Our approach is different. We take the shooter from beginning to realistic quickly. We train a maximum of 5 shooters at a time as opposed to all comers. Shooters are individually trained, safety is accentuated, and proficiency assured.
The Guarantee-If you are dissatisfied with the instruction and do not feel it makes you a better shooter, more competent, and more confident you will not be charged. No questions. You are the judge.
